As a strong science student who had never encountered British-style maths exams, I found the TMUA format completely foreign. Chinese maths exams emphasise computation, but the TMUA demands reasoning and proof — an entirely different dimension. My first mock was 3.8, with logic questions almost entirely wrong.

I enrolled in the Foundation + Logic Specialist combination. Ms. Wang rebuilt my knowledge framework in the foundation class with wonderfully vivid explanations — a 'delivery person with parcels' for function mappings, a 'roller coaster' for derivatives. Dr. Zhang's logic course opened a new world — I finally grasped what people mean by 'the beauty of mathematics', discovering that proving a proposition can be an elegant process.

Mr. Liu's mock exam reviews were equally transformative; he analyses not just the answer but the examiner's thinking — what ability each question is designed to test. This 'mind-reading' approach to problem-solving was invaluable. His 'elimination plus reverse thinking' strategy saved me enormous time on multiple-choice questions.

After about four months of systematic study I scored 7.6 and received my Oxford Maths & Computer Science offer. Thank you to every teacher at TMUA Elite!
