I chose the TMUA because UCL's Economics department treats it as a key reference metric. As a humanities-leaning student applying for Economics, I needed a strong TMUA to prove my quantitative ability. My initial 5.5 was decent but below target.

In 1-on-1 sessions Dr. Zhang tailored a plan to my strengths — since my computation and function skills were solid, we focused almost entirely on logic and proof. Her 'Structured Proof Writing Method' was transformative: clarify what to prove, organise given conditions, build the reasoning framework, then fill in details.

My Paper 2 leapt from 5.0 to 8.5 using this approach. My overall 8.0 gave my UCAS application a major boost, securing a UCL Economics offer. Looking back, TMUA preparation didn't just get me into my dream university — it cultivated a habit of rigorous thinking that proves invaluable in economics studies. Dr. Zhang is the person who changed how I learn.
